Rental prices for condominiums in the Greater Tokyo Area have decreased for the second consecutive month.

On the 16th, Tokyo Kantai Co., Ltd. released the monthly trends in condominium rental prices in the three major metropolitan areas for October 2023. These prices were calculated by converting the advertised rent for condominiums into per square meter.

In the Greater Tokyo Area, the average rent was ¥3,541 (a decrease of 0.7% compared to the previous month), marking the second consecutive monthly decline. By prefecture, Tokyo saw a decrease for the fourth consecutive month, with rents at ¥4,105 (a decrease of 0.7%). Kanagawa Prefecture experienced a third consecutive monthly decline, with rents at ¥2,474 (a decrease of 0.6%). Conversely, Saitama Prefecture saw an increase for the second consecutive month, with rents at ¥2,036 (an increase of 0.9%), and Chiba Prefecture also rose, reaching ¥1,988 (an increase of 1.4%).

In the Kinki region, the average rent was ¥2,196 (a slight decrease of 0.4%). By prefecture, Osaka Prefecture saw a marginal decrease, with rents at ¥2,476 (a decrease of 0.2%). Hyogo Prefecture, on the other hand, experienced a slight increase for the third consecutive month, with rents at ¥1,875 (an increase of 0.4%).

In the Chubu region, the average rent was ¥1,939 (an increase of 0.2%). Aichi Prefecture saw a slight increase, with rents at ¥1,986 (an increase of 0.2%).
