The residential price index for the Tokyo metropolitan area has been on the rise for four consecutive months.

The Japan Real Estate Institute (JREI) announced on the 26th that it has released the "JREI Housing Price Index" for existing condominiums for October 2023.

With the base index set at 100 for January 2000, the overall index for the Tokyo metropolitan area rose to 118.91 (an increase of 0.63% from the previous month), marking a fourth consecutive month of increase. Compared to the same month of the previous year, it rose by 4.46%.

By region, Tokyo recorded 133.21 (an increase of 1.21% from the previous month), and Kanagawa Prefecture recorded 105.46 (an increase of 0.03% from the previous month), both showing four consecutive months of increase. Chiba Prefecture recorded 93.78 (a decrease of 0.39% from the previous month), and Saitama Prefecture recorded 93.20 (a decrease of 1.45% from the previous month), both showing a decline.
