On the 16th, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism approved the redevelopment plan submitted by the Toranomon 1-chome East District Urban Redevelopment Association as a Private Urban Renewal Project.
The plan involves developing a large-scale complex consisting of offices, shops, and business support facilities on a planned area of approximately 1.1 hectares in front of Tokyo Metro Ginza Line's "Toranomon" Station. The complex will have a total floor area of about 119,886 square meters and will be 29 stories above ground with 4 basement levels. Central Nippon Land Development Co., the Urban Renaissance Agency (UR), and Sumitomo Realty & Development Co. will participate as members of the association.
The project aims to strengthen the urban infrastructure around Toranomon Station and develop facilities for business creation and collaboration among industry, government, and academia, forming an international business exchange hub. The plan includes the development of ground-level and underground plazas integrated with the station, as well as barrier-free pathways, enhancing the convenience and safety of the station. Leveraging its proximity to government offices, the project will establish business creation and exchange facilities for industry-government-academia collaboration, contributing to the formation of a world-class business environment. Additionally, regional heating and cooling systems and cogeneration systems will be introduced to provide heat and power supply during disasters and reduce environmental impact.
Construction began on January 22 and is scheduled for completion in June 2027.
