HOTEL WAMARE ONIKOBE" is a rental inn located in Onikobe, Naruko Onsen, Osaki City, Miyagi Prefecture. A building designed with a modern Japanese design will welcome you in the historic Onikobe Onsen Village and Naruko Onsen area, which has existed for about 1,100 years.

concept

HOTEL WAMARE ONIKOUBE" is a hotel where you can experience the history, culture, and traditions of the Tohoku region of Japan. Naruko Onsen is famous for its traditional craft, the "Kokeshi dolls." The hotel is decorated with Kokeshi dolls created by the long-established local workshop, Sakurai Kokeshi, allowing you to appreciate the charm of these dolls throughout the premises.

Additionally, the hotel features antique furniture with a long history, including the "Sendai Tansu" from Miyagi Prefecture and the "Iwayado Tansu" from Iwate Prefecture. The sturdy Sendai Tansu is displayed in the living room on the first floor, while the Iwayado Tansu, along with a shoe cabinet and flower stand, is placed in the entrance area, creating a serene Japanese-style space.

Spacious Living Area for Large Groups

HOTEL WAMARE ONIKOUBE" can accommodate up to 14 guests. Both the first and second floors have living areas where you can dine, chat with other guests, and enjoy a leisurely time together.

On the wall in front of the kitchen on the first floor, there is a decoration of the Kamagami-sama, a designated cultural property of Miyagi Prefecture. Kamagami-sama is believed to bring blessings, fire protection, and ward off evil spirits.

Guest Rooms Decorated with Kokeshi Dolls

The hotel has a total of five guest rooms, each named after a type of tree: Aohada, Enju, Itayakaede, Yamazakura, and Mizuki. These names are derived from the five types of wood used by the Sakurai Kokeshi Workshop to carve Kokeshi dolls. Each room is themed according to its name and is decorated with Kokeshi dolls from the ""Kiji series"" made from the corresponding wood.

The room nameplates are also made from the wood that matches the room's theme.

Additionally, the bedside tables in the rooms are also made from the same type of wood. The bedside lamps feature traditional Suruga bamboo crafts. These thoughtful design elements and materials create a warm and rustic atmosphere unique to the wood.

Facility

The kitchen is equipped with a large refrigerator and a system kitchen with a dishwasher. Additionally, the hotel provides a microwave, electric kettle, and various tableware, allowing you to cook comfortably during your stay.

The dining table and cupboard are made from cedar wood from the Kurikoma area, where Onikoube is located, allowing you to feel the natural essence of the Onikoube area while using these furnishings.

Our main building offers two bathing spaces, allowing you to choose a different bath according to your mood of the day.
One is a modern bathroom, and the other is a hinoki (cypress) bath, where you can relax in the soothing aroma of cypress wood.

From the second-floor balcony of our main building, you can take in the magnificent natural scenery of Kurikoma Quasi-National Park.
You can enjoy a barbecue while admiring the view.
